Yes, they should definitely start Kei Igawa again instead.

White, Wright, Ohlendorf, McCutchen, and Joba should all get a shot before Boomer. If all of them fail then, by all means, offer him the job because I would have already killed myself.

White, Wright, McCutchen - Sure, because the rushing rookie method has gone so well so far.

Chamberlain - Farnsworth did have a lower ERA for a day or two there, so I suppose it's time to trust him with the eigth again.

Ohlendorf - I know you're not really serious, right? You just felt like you wanted to throw a fifth name in there. Unless you're fine with a starter only going two and two thirds. Igawa has been better in relief though, so maybe a tandem starter team could work. Never mind, I'm sold on this one. Thank goodness we avoided bringing in someone that might be able to help Kennedy find the plate.

As opposed to the proven ineffective injury-guaranteed over-the-hill veteran method.

What good is an eighth inning guy if your starter can't keep you in the game that long? Don't tell me you're a "keep Joba in the pen" guy. (Also, I don't want to jinx this, but Farns is actually striking people out again!)

Ohlendorf isn't ideal seeing as he has no out-pitch and is much better for an inning or two out of the pen than he was as a starter but, like all the alternatives, it's so much better than Wells.

I'm not happy about any of these scenarios (except the Joba one) but Wells is not the answer to our problem.

You guys are both forgetting about Pavano, who will be available to pitch after he recovers from TJ surgery and before he accidentally slams his finger in a car door, ending his career.

I would put my faith in Pavano well before I put it in David Wells.
